J.K. ROWLING’S ANNOUNCEMENT VIDEO:

Well, we finally know what Pottermore is! Here’s a quick summery: J.K. Rowling has written extensive new material about characters, places and objects from the Harry Potter universe. Pottermore will later incorporate an online shop where people can purchase exclusively the long-awaited Harry Potter eBooks. The shop will evolve into selling other Potter-related products. The story will be brought to life with new illustrations and interactive ‘Moments’, starting with the first book. Pottermore will be open to all users from October 2011 An online challenge will be launched, whereby the first million people to complete their registration will gain early entry into the website, on July 31st!

New Featurette for HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS – PART 2

Warner Bros. has released a new featurette for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.  The featurette is more of a retrospective than a look at the new movie, but it’s still remarkable to look at Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint’s first screen test and not be impressed at how far they’ve come as actors.

First one features Ron and Second one features Hermione. Earlier this week we saw Harry.


Rupert Grint poses for UK’s Make Mine Milk campaign

Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint was the latest celebrity to promote the Make Mine Milk campaign (similar to the Got Milk? campaign in the United States), which of course promotes the need to drink nutritional milk.



Teaser trailer for Tom Felton’s ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’

The teaser trailer for Tom Felton’s upcoming thriller, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, also costarring James Franco, Andy Serkis, Brian Cox, and Frida Pinto, has been released online. Tom’s featured very briefly, however; the story, a prequel to the classic Planet of the Apes, revolves around a scientist who tries to find a Alzheimer’s disease by testing it on apes, specifically one named Caeser, who mutates drastically as a result of the treatment. Caesar then leads a revolt with his fellow apes against mankind; Tom plays Dodge, one of the villains, and son of Brian Cox’s character. The trailer can be seen here.

 


‘Deathly Hallows – Part 1’ nominated at 2011 MTV Movie Awards

 

Today MTV announced the nominees for this year’s Movie Awards, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is nominated in several categories:

– Best Kiss (Emma Watson & Daniel Radcliffe)

– Best Fight (Daniel Radcliffe & Rupert Grint VS Helena Bonham Carter)

– Best Villain (Ralph Fiennes, Tom Felton)

– Best Female Performance (Emma Watson)

– Best Male Performance (Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint)

– Best Movie

‘Harry Potter Page to Screen’ to hit bookstore shelves this October

If you enjoyed Harry Potter Film Wizardry, Harper Collins isworking on a follow-up this Fall, entitled Harry Potter Page to Screen: The Complete Filmmaking Journey.

“This followup to the New York Times bestseller Harry Potter Film Wizardry is a lavish and personal look at the entire filmmaking process that turned the word’s bestselling fiction series into a blockbuster movie franchise.”

Highlights include new detailed insight from producer David Heyman, production designer Stuart Craig, director David Yates, as well as new interviews with Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Michael Gambon.

This will be the first book to detail the making of all eight Potter films and feature hundreds of never-before-seen photos and concept illustrations. According to one Harper Collins rep this book “will be more journalistic in tone” and there will be “much more concept art, in larger sizes on the page.”
